What can I expect from therapy?
Your first session or so, you can expect to talk about what is troubling you, and what you hope to get out of therapy.
You can expect a safe place where you can unburden yourself.
You will be treated with respect, compassion, and without judgment. Therapy is hard work, you can expect to feel challenged and at times, emotionally drained.
You can expect our work together to continue as long as it takes to
reach your goals.
How will therapy help me?
Therapy can be a place to breathe, reflect, and feel truly heard where you can speak freely without fear of judgment. Talking things out with someone who isn’t personally involved can help you process your thoughts, gain new perspective, and better understand yourself. Often, people come to therapy because what they’ve been doing no longer feels sustainable, and they want to learn new ways to live, connect, and feel seen and heard. Over time, it helps you find clarity and connection within yourself and others.
Do I have to go to therapy every week?
Not necessarily. We will work collaboratively to determine what works best for you and your situation. That may mean weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly appointments. The frequency of appointments can also increase or decrease throughout the course of our work together depending on your needs.
